Cover of Villanovan

Hey everyone!
I just wanted to draw your attention to some really exciting news.  The featured article and cover story of the Villanovan is about PSN and its efforts with the Bookstore regarding sweatshop issues specifically with Russell

The Editorial is called Justice in the Bookstore

I just want to say hooray to PSN for raising this issue!  We have come a long way and this is hopefully one step we can mark as a successful step in our campaign!  I hope we can also keep in mind that,  if you do get a chance to read the article and opinion, this has been a crucial step, but we have a long way to go in regard to getting Villanova to :

 (1) Cut ties with Russell until they show improved efforts to correct the misgivings of Jerzees de Honduras workers

(2)  Get the Designated Suppliers Program signed on to at Villanova, which can happen with enough student support this semester!  (students tuitions as a collective whole make up the greatest percentage of Villanova's budget money, much more than the endowment, and it's a safe bet to say more than revenue from Athletics, however I do not have a statistic to support that)

That's all for now, be sure to look for our Letter to the Editor next week to clarify the goals of PSN and the VU Sweat-Free Coalition.  You can check here at the Villanovan's website; they publish weekly on Thursday.

All the Best,
The Progressive Student Network
